Account types

Pick the account that fits your cash flow

Two ways to run your fuel card: Prepaid (instant, no credit check) or Credit (weekly spending line, deeper discount). Your final per-gallon rate depends on both your fleet tier and which account you're on.

Your final per-gallon rate is determined by both your fleet tier (Starter → Enterprise) and your account type. A Credit account on the same fleet tier always gets a deeper discount than a Prepaid one - that's the trade-off for the underwriting.

Volume tier structure

Discounts that scale with your fleet

Your tier is set by active truck count. Combined with your account type (Prepaid or Credit), it determines your exact per-gallon rate. We quote it live after a quick chat.

Pricing questions?

Why don't you publish exact per-gallon rates?
Diesel pricing moves daily, and your discount also depends on volume, routes, and the specific networks you fuel at. A "20¢/gal off" badge on a webpage either over-promises (and we have to walk it back) or under-promises (and you assume we're worse than we are). Instead, we quote your exact rate after a 5-minute call - based on your real numbers, current diesel index, and tier. The quote is firm. If you want a ballpark before that call, the ROI calculator shows estimated annual savings ranges by tier, and the compare page lines us up against Comdata, EFS, WEX, and Fuelman feature-by-feature.
How does tiering work? Can I move between tiers?
Your tier is based on the number of active trucks on your account. As you add trucks and cross a threshold (6, 21, 51), you automatically move up the next month - higher discount, no fees. If your fleet shrinks, you move down. There's no penalty for moving tiers; you just get the discount that matches your fleet size.
What's the difference between Prepaid and Credit accounts?
A Prepaid account is open to everyone with no credit check - you fund the account (ACH, wire, debit), and drivers fuel until the balance hits zero. You get the standard discount for your fleet tier. A Credit account gives you up to $5,000 per truck per week on a Net-7 or Net-14 billing cycle - and unlocks a deeper discount tier on the same fleet size. Credit accounts are subject to underwriting (business verification + 6-month payment history). Both account types use the same card and the same network - only the billing model and discount depth differ.
How is the credit limit calculated?
Approved Credit accounts go up to $5,000 / truck / week, scaled by your active truck count and underwriting outcome. So a 5-truck fleet can have up to a $25,000/week line, a 50-truck fleet up to $250,000/week, and so on. Starting limits are set at approval based on business history and adjusted up over time. Limits can be raised after a successful payment history with us. Spending caps and per-driver, per-day limits are also configurable from the portal regardless of your overall line.
Can I start on Prepaid and switch to Credit later?
Yes - and a lot of fleets do this. New authorities and owner-operators usually start on Prepaid (instant approval), build six months of payment history with us, then graduate to a Credit account with a deeper discount. The same physical and virtual cards keep working - only the billing model changes.
Can I fund my Prepaid account with a credit card?
Yes. We accept ACH, wire, debit cards, and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) for Prepaid funding. A lot of owner-operators use a business credit card on purpose - they earn rewards on every dollar of fuel spend on top of the EZ Fuel pump discount, and they get an extra 30 days of float between when fuel is bought and when the credit card statement is due. A small processing fee applies to credit card top-ups; ACH and wire are free.
What is a MoneyCode and when do I use one?
A MoneyCode is a one-time numeric code you issue from the EZ Fuel portal and send to a driver's phone. The driver hands the code to the cashier (or punches it in at the kiosk) and it pays for things a fuel card can't always cover - lumper fees, scale tickets, parking, lodging, repairs, or a cash advance. You set the dollar amount per code, and once it's used (or expires), it can't be reused. It's the modern replacement for sending Comdata-style cash codes - fast, auditable, with the spend tied directly to a load or driver in your portal.
What's included in Pay-per-use vs. Priority Roadside?
Pay-per-use is included free with every fuel card - you get the 24/7 dispatch hotline, network parts and labor discounts, and direct billing. You only pay for the actual service when you use it. Priority adds front-of-line dispatch (your trucks routed first), deeper parts/labor tiers, a dedicated case manager, faster ETA guarantees, and quarterly spend reports. Pricing is custom based on fleet size.
Are there minimum contract terms?
No. There are no long-term contracts. You can cancel anytime with no fee. We want to earn your business month-to-month by delivering real savings and support.
Do owner-operators get the same rates as bigger fleets?
Owner-operators get the Starter tier for fuel and the same network rates for parts and roadside as our biggest customers - we don't gate the parts & service discount network by fleet size. The fuel discount tier scales with truck count, but every other benefit is identical from one truck to a thousand.
Is my quoted rate locked in or does it change?
Your tier (Starter / Growth / Pro / Enterprise) is locked for 12 months from your start date. The actual per-gallon discount within that tier moves slightly with the diesel market index, but you'll always be at the top of your tier - no opaque adjustments. If your fleet grows and crosses a threshold, you automatically move to the higher tier.
What if I switch from another fuel card provider? Any penalties?
No. EZ FUEL doesn't charge switching fees, cancellation fees, or penalties. Your old provider might - check with them. We'll help you migrate data and issue new cards. Most fleets see savings within the first month.
